finished stone house

I have a cobblestone house built back in the 1930s. There is no insulation in the first floor exterior walls, but they do have
wood behind the cobblestones with 2x4s separating the wood from the 3/4 inch thick drywall. Is the only way to insulate is blow it in from holes cut in the inside drywall and if so what insulation is best.

here is a link providing some basic information on the three main types that would fit into what you are looking for. I would do an internet search to become more educated on each of the three, thus you will be able to make an informed decision based on facts.
