I accidentally cut the siding too far back so there is half an inch to 3/4 of an inch gap between the siding and the new trim. I fear that caulking the hell out of it is not going to look good. Any other ideas?
remove the trim board and rip a new one to the proper width, if you have a 1x5 trim board on there now, but a 1x6 and take 1/2" off the width of it.
I recently renovated my house. I was looking for windows for my exterior areas. Some one told me about exterior trim around window and I managed to fulfilled my requirements.
I agree with MLBSF. If you try to caulk it even with a backer rod in the gap you'll have problems later. But if you don't want to have to redo all the exterior trim boards to match you're better off replacing the one piece of siding. Unless you have a board stretcher. ;-)
