Exterior Paint Color Question

We will be painting the exterior of our boxy house this summer. I like the current white siding w/ white trim - I feel like any other color will make the boxy-ness stand out. Does anyone have suggestions for making the exterior more interesting if I do stick with white? Or are there other colors that would look good here?

Re: Exterior Paint Color Question

I think the shape of the house is pretty standard for a farm house, which I sorely miss living out in Las Vegas! There are several differnet ways you could go with it aside from the all white you currently have.

The first, and most extreme I might suggest is a light neutral color for the siding, Grey or Slate blue perhaps, while keeping the roof and window trim white. This would look particularly nice with dark black/grey shutters to pull in the color of the roof tiles .

The second is to keep the siding and bulk of the trim white, and create a narrow trim around the windows with black like the roof and put a bold pop of color on the door like a red.

Third is to keep everything white and add shutters for the color pop.

I've attached a few examples of each of these color schemes, obviously what you decide to go depends on personal taste, and how much you want to spend of course. I hope this helps jump start your design process!

Re: Exterior Paint Color Question

I think black shutters would look good and could make your home pop with the white siding. I'd recommend investing in a new front door as well and powerwashing your home.
