Exterior Foam Insulation with old windows

How do I put exterior rigid foam insulation around old window sills (the sills stick out 1.5" from the house now) the foam insulation will be 2" thick and that would cause the sills to be inset 1/2" from the foam and the siding would still have to be installed?

Re: Exterior Foam Insulation with old windows

if your keeping the existing windows you will have to fur out the existing brick molds and sils so you have something to caulk the new siding to. keep in mind the window extensions should get clad in metal as well to clean it up as well to eliminate any seams where water can get in
