Electric Baseboard Heating

I am converting a carport into 660 square feet of living space. The new living space incluldes a family room and (2) bedrooms. My house is all electric with hydronic electric baseboard heaters in the house. The extra space is for family visits so will not be heated most of the heating months. The cost of hydronic heaters is 10 times the cost of standard heaters.
1. Is the extra cost justified?
2. What are the advantages of the hydronic design?
3. Is there another heating method that would be more cost effective?
