Electric baseboard heat

I am installing electric baseboard heat. I'm using 14/2 wire which I red would be fine as long as my breaker was double pole 15. Sry I for got to mention this is a 240v heater. I ran wire from both heaters and thermostat to a j box then tied all like colors together. Then ran a supply liNE frome the panel to the thermostat. And acording to the thermostat I hooked the load on one side and the line on the other. Then turbed on the double pole 15 and the breaker popped. I then removed a heater from the line thinking maybe I over loaded the line. However I came to the same resault. So what am I missing hear is the wire too small? Did I miss wire something? Please help!

Re: Electric baseboard heat

Most people use a red wire called heater x instead of loomex. I would alays use # 12 wire for heating.
