eco or low voc paint vs conventional latex

My husband and I just bought an old house and we'd like to be as green as possible as we fix it up. We're looking into using low or zero VOC paints (like Yolo Colorhouse or Safecoat) to paint the interior walls and trim, but I haven't found any comparisons on durability, fading, and coverage of the newer eco paints vs. conventional latex paint. Does any one know if these paints are comparable to regular paint for durability, fading, and number of coats it takes to paint a wall? Are there any tests to show the differences? Are some brands or ingredients better than others?

Thanks for your help!

I don't have an answer to all your questions, but I used Frazee (California Brand) Enviro Kote and it worked great over existing darker flat paint. I used two coats like always and it looks good. The smell was absolutely no problem and that feature alone is worth it to me.
