Drywall Dust ON new Wood Floors - UV finish
hawk

I just put in new hardwood floors with a UV finish - very rustic with lots of groves (where the dust is embedded!!!). At the same time of install, there was paint/drywall work being done. They did not properly cover floors and now no one can figure out how or if the dust will ever get out of our floors. Can someone explain why it won't come up? We have tried lots of things.

Thank You!!

Next time: put and finish your floor last.

Was the floor finish wet a bit? find a corner which is not that visible, using a utility knife lift some of the dust and see if comes up. If it comes up without scratching the finish, this would be one way of doing the job.

A good vacuum and a plastic scr-aper or brush and some knee pads. Unless the dust settled in the uncured finish and bonded. Then you may be SOL.

White vinegar, toothbrush, sponges, microfiber cloths.

Powered by painters and drywall mechanics of course- then they will remember to protect finished surfaces afterward!
