Re: Dryer plug receptacle replacement

Turn off electricity, remove cover, pull receptacle, disconnect wires, get new receptacle, connect wires, install receptacle, install cover, turn on electricity.

In the event the wires are aluminum, be sure to use an antioxidant compound intended for aluminum electrical wires.

You may find it easier to replace the cord on the dryer with one that fits the outlet.

Re: Dryer plug receptacle replacement

Can you describe the wall outlet and the cord that's presently installed on the dryer? Does it have three prongs or four? Not counting any round prongs, is the center prong straight or L-shaped?

Which of the following looks like your wall outlet? Which of the following would you plug the present dryer cord into? (Use the NEMA number to indicate that.)
