Dry creek and rock walls

I am purchasing a home in the Southwest that has a dry creek that runs through the property.  I am planning on directing the water better by building a nice dry creek bed with rocks and maintaining the water flow.  The issue is that the creek bed runs through where I also want to have built a privacy rock wall for my yard.

What is the best way to allow the dry creek to run through or under the rock wall but still allow an inclosed area for pets and children?  Are there decrative metal grates or something available?  I'll need it for both sides of the yard as the dry creek enters and exits the property.

That was my thought, anyone have any other solutions or do something in like this?

There are plenty of options for you for placing drain pipe under the wall. Just ensure that you supposed the wall accordingly so that the water does not wash away the wall. Depending on the size, you may want to think about a concrete wall around the drain pipe, and then cover it with stone to make it match the rest. Any welding or metal shop can build any design that you like into a grate that will fit the pipe.
