In this house I am helping to repair, there is a converted concrete carport which has been walled and roofed in. This room is 19'x9'. The walls are concrete and the roof is wooden, and an old drop ceiling has been installed. The entire frame of the drop ceiling is damaged on the sides of the frame connected to the wall, so new tiles have been purchased, but the frame is in need of repair.
I have purchased wood baseboard material to attach to the drywall in the room, but at roughly the 8-9 foot point the drywall stops and is bare concrete.
What are the steps to re-attach a suspended or drop ceiling metal frame to its walls? Especially if some of the wall is drywall, and some of the wall is exposed concrete?
Would it be simpler to hire a contractor to do this, or is the job fairly simple enough? How much should I be getting a quote for the repairs if I do hire someone?
