Driving me crazy! Light bulb installation

Ok, I have finally put trim around my recessed lighting and the springs are pulling the socket down at an angle that makes it impossible to screw the light bulb in correctly. I have 6 fixtures and can't get a bulb to seat correctly in single one of them. Works just fine without the trim. Is there a trick to this I am missing? I am putting the springs from the trim into the keyhole in the recessed lighting (As per the instructions of the trim). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jake
