Caulking will work in place of the grommets just not quite as neat looking. To answer you earlier question, unless you have very old wiring, which is unlikely, your wiring is romex which has the hot and neutral in one insulation sleeve so you don't need a different tester to test for neutral.

Sorry I don't get back to you sooner but have been busy doing some heavy work here at home.

Hi Jack,

No problem.

You've been a big help thinking and planning this through.

I appreciate your added remarks here as I now feel safer knowing we did this all right.

My best wishes to you that all goes well in your project.

I do have a follow up question?

Have you come across any software which converts photos into editable diagrams (preferably 3D)?

Ex. You take photos of Jack and Jill outside stairs. You want to then convert them into a 3D diagram where you can show how the stairs could be widened, how they would then look and what the measurements would then be after widening them.

I'm still waiting for my George Jetson jet pack!

Thanks so much!

Best.

I haven't used any but some of the 3-D cad programs allow you to import pictures. Not sur if they will do what you want or not.
