We converted an enclosed porch into a new master bath in our 1883 Itallianate. It has white T&G wainscot up to 6', and painted drywall above that. The floor is black granite with a gray marble hex border, and there is a clawfoot tub and separate tile shower. There are two niches for vanities that are opposite of each other. There are matching cheap stock vanities in them now. Eventually, I want two replace them with two antique dressers or wash stands, plumbed with vessel or drop-in sinks. My question/dilemma is, it would be next to impossible to find two matching antiques. Would it be awful if the pieces don't match each other? I cant find any examples of that. What would help them to compliment each other? Matching general period style and details? Or should they be diffetent enough that they dont look they are yrying to match? Matching stain or paint? What have others done? Thank you!
