the answer is yes. There are disadvantages to this though. #1 is you can only put a dimmer switch in one location. You just need to make sure you buy ONE three way dimmable switch, the other one will just be a simple three way.
Yes, but most compact flourescent lamps (CFL) can't be dimmed and it's just a matter of time when incandesent lamps will no longer be available.
