The editors of This Old House want to know:

Ever finish up a major project only to find a pile of debris you don't
know what to do with? We want to hear your worst renovation-waste
nightmares--and your tips on how to dispose of it all.

Did you call a carpet recycler? Smash the rest into little pieces and smuggle it out
in your pants cuff? Tell us here and your tale may be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine!

Re: Demo Debris Confusion

LOL!!! Love your disposal method!

Re: Demo Debris Confusion

I had slate work done two years ago and the contractor didn't take the broken slate pieces with him. They're still sitting in a big garden container out by the garage. It's not much stuff, but the city won't collect them and the dump won't take them.

Re: Demo Debris Confusion

I had some scrap concrete left over from some work I had done.. trash guys wouldn't take it either. So I started sneakily tucking one or two pieces (depending on size and weight) into my normal trash, in a bag with the rest of it, in the trash can. THey took it away. It took quite a while, and i have 2 pieces left.
I don't know how big your slate pieces are, but that plan might work for you, too... ;)
