Dead spots on lawn
stevehappens

We recently bought a new home. It has a large back yard. I water regularly.

Recently, I've noticed quite a few patches where the grass had simply died and just left dirt patches.

What's the best way to go about getting grass to grow back in these dead areas?

Thx.

How big are the brown spots?

If they are small, around 4-6 inches in diameter, could be pets pee.

If the dead spots seem to be growing you may need to spray an anti-fungal.

Could be pet pee as suggested, could be a fungus as suggested, could be insect activity or it could be buried building debris. Dig down a few inches to see if you can find anything.

The spots are pretty big. I'd say average about 5 to 6 feet diameter.
