Crown Moulding Caulk gone Wrong....

we had crown moulding put up throughout our second floor 2 years ago during the summer, it looked perfect. throughout the winter the caulk the carpenter used expanded so much that you can now see a gap between the ceiling and the top of the crown. during the summer the gap all but disappears. I would love to solve this problem, but am hesitant since I don't want to spend time and money on something that won't work. my first thought is to re-caulk it when it is at its widest point (during the winter) but i am not sure if that will work.

Re: Crown Moulding Caulk gone Wrong....

Hi, this is troublesome with expansion and contraction. there are a few caulks out there like "white lightning" that are suppose to expand/contract. Try buying a small tube, do one or two joints and see if it helps before doing them all. Just a thought.;)
