Crown molding question

I would like to install crown molding. how do I work around speakers in the ceilings?

i would think that moving the speakers a few inches down the wall or a few inches out onto the ceiling would be the easiest thing to do and look the best.

I can't move the speakers as they are butted up against a joist.

The joists have another side- use it to get the speakers out of the way. Anything you do to work the crown around the speakers (and there are ways it can be done) will look like crap, cover the speakers, or both.
