I have a back yard with so-much-potential, but it will definately need a lot of love to get there. If this isn't the discussion board for this type of question, please let me know!
I closed on my house a month ago, to this day, and have been thinking even prior to about how I will go about re-using an approx 25'x25' 2" concrete slab in the back yard. It was painted some time ago to be a basketball court (the paint can easily be pressure washed off). I did have an estimate for removal -- about $2,000 which oddly enough in the appraisal was the additional value of having that item (to me that's debatable!).
Initially I had thought to keep it as it may be a good space to locate my raised garden beds, as I can't really imagine any other place in the yard to add these. It really is a large area, and very much so a "dead space", so I am curious if anyone has come across something like this and/or has more creative ideas?
I'll post a picture once day breaks. Note: I am in Eastern PA. We have cold, snowy winters, and it rains more often than the sun is out
