Creating a tounge and groove hardwood floor out of countertop

We found this great birch butcher block countertop at IKEA that we think might make an awesome hardwood floor. Here's a link to the item we are looking at http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40091673 It is a solid peice of wood, and we think at less than $1 a sq ft it would make a great floor. Does anyone else see an issue with turning this into a tounge and groove floor? Anyone have experience with this or see a good article on the web about how to do this? Thank you for your help.
