cracked corners in drywall

I have a two story gambrel, modified, house in Vermont, and I have a problem with corner joints in the exterior walls cracking during the winter/heating season. The exterior is osb on 2x6 studs and vinyl siding. The interior is 4 mil poly, with 1/2" sheetrock, and r 19 insulation. I have been doing carpentry since 1968, building many, many houses, and other building projects, from rough to finish, and cabs./furniture. This has got me stumped, that I have never encoutered this before, or nobody that I have built for or worked for has not mentioned this problem. Any help would be greatly appreaciated!

Re: cracked corners in drywall

Are the cracks vertical where the walls butt together or are they where the ceiling and wall meet ?

Do the cracks open in the winter and close in the summer ?
