Hi there, I have an old covered entrance porch that is attached to a hundred plus year old house.
The wooden porch is now tilting slightly to the right -- it is likely that it's just the cover or the roof of the porch that is tilting.
The porch is roughly 10 sq. ft. The cover or roof of the porch is supported by four wooden posts that rest on the wooden railings of the porch. It seems to me that it is the left front post that is tilting -- it's base is tilting left -- opposite the direction the roof is tilting.
Does this sound like something an amateur like me can do after a couple of visits to the Home Depot or does the old porch need a professional? how much do you guys think it'll cost?
I wanted to post a pic or two of the situation but for some reason it tells me my jpeg files are not valid image files. i m so technologically challenged. hopefully the description is clear enough.
