I live in the bottom unit of a century old Edwardian duplex (was once a single family home). I would like to insulate my ceilings for noise proofing, however they are beautiful old coved ceilings and I don't want to disturb them. I've been reading about blown-in insulation; is this my only option? Does it work effectively? I also read somewhere that blown-in insulation is not a good idea in old houses, because of paint failure, termites and structural damage, etc.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!
