corner toilet

Howdy, reading a plumbing book or mostly looking at the pictures. I saw a corner toilet but have never know of one being installed and used. The idea of creating more room in a small bath is appealing . Anyone have any experience with these?

Re: corner toilet

I've never seen one. I have to say though, I can't quite see how it would save space when it would actually take up more. As it is, a toilet needs a space approximately 36" wide and about 36" clear in front of it. If you angle it out of a corner, you loose about a 5' radius out of the corner.

I would liken it to a corner kitchen sink, while you might get a slight bit more counter space, you loose functionality of the sink, not a good thing, IMHO.

Another option may be a toilet with an overhead tank, allowing you to slide the seat back about 6 inches for more open space in front.
