We have two additions that were done with concrete posts. We have a problem keeping these areas of the house warm in winter and cool in summer due to the amount of open space that is underneath these additions. We have covered the bottom with durarock to look like a foundation and under the flooring there is insulation...this causes another problem by being a nice warm home for rodents. We have installed an electric base board heater in the kids room (rest of the house is forced air), but the floor and room is still extremely cold. Any suggestions how to correct foundation (without knocking additions down and starting over), how to keep these parts of the house warmer, as well as keep the rodents out from underneath the addtions and thus out of the insulation. All comments would be greatly appreciated.
