Concrete patch

I have an area 40" wide by 100" long 1" deep at one end to 3" deep at the other. The area surrounding the area to be patched as well as the area itself is concrete. I have talked to a couple concrete speciality places and the material cost for what they reccomend is about $500. I was wondering about two different options,1) Fill the void 3/4 from the top with wood and then use Gypcrete for the remaining 3/4". 2) Fill the area that is 2"- 3" deep with regular concrete and the area that is 1"- 2" deep with the more expensive material.

This floor area is in a bonus room and located at the edge of the room. When finished the floor will be either carpeted or painted and have furniture sitting on it, no traffic.

Does anyone have any other ideas that would have a more reasonable material cost?

Thanks, Jerry
