Compact fluorescent MR16

I recently bought three Feit GU5.3 compact fluorescent (CF) MR16 bulbs to replace three 50w halogen bulbs in a display cabinet. I know they don't have the output of halogens, but they are dim, dim, dim! The Feit CFs are 12V bulbs, and the cabinet has a Hatch VS12-15 transformer (no dimmer) which I think should be just fine. But is that the issue, or is it just that these CF bulbs just don't have the lumen output? When I say they're dim, I mean they have a fraction of the brightness of the halogens. Thanks.

Wow, those are impressive numbers. Nowhere on the packaging does it give the lumen output of these CF bulbs. It says "Replaces up to 50W", so we would think the output would somewhere in that ballpark. But these fall far short. So, I might assume then that the problem isn't with the type of transformer, right?

I really, really, really doubt it's the transformer. You are just not going to get the light output in a CF to match a halogen lamp.
