actually, I am the honey - and so I will be the one doing. I just thought I would add this to your list as its commonly overlooked, and is probably both appropriate for the time it takes, money it costs, and for the season.
In my case, the furncace has barely gone on once this winter - which is truly something to be proud of considering the sharp cold snap we've just come out of in NJ.
The reason is - I installed a Jotul woodstove in our fireplace last spring, and had a new sleave-liner professionally installed in the old chimney.
I've kept the thing burning around the clock for the past month and a half, and just let it burn out yesterday when it reached 61° outside.
I'm sure that there is quite a nice buildup of carbon and resin in that once-slick stainless steal sleeve.
