Chemical odor under kitchen sink

After heavy rain and wind an odor started in the cabinet under my kitchen sink. It seems like it is around the disposal but no odor is coming up from it into the sink. It is kind of chemical. Could it be an intake valve for the drain? Is it sewer gas?

Do you have a dishwasher?

I'd start with step 1:

Take apart the entire drain, inspect, clean or replace stinky parts, including the air gap, discharge hose and air gap to disposer hose (if you have a DW).

Does any part of the drain go outside? a clean out perhaps? If you have that, check to make sure it's sealed all around it.

Did you notice any dampness in the area? any dead mice?

Yes, I have a dishwasher. I do smell the odor on the plastic hose.

I will have those things checked, thanks.

Used dishwasher cleaner, husband cleaned dishwasher hose, no smell. Husband cleaned intake valve found sewer odor, not the same smell. Looking for something that may have died now. Ugh.
