ceiling tile

well, under the ceiling tiles we have a high ceiling. now is it because it is more energy efficient? next we are debating on redoing the ceiling tile; or putting ceiling dry wall over it, or just having the high ceilings. not sure which one would be best. could anyone tell me the advantages of each? any recommendations?:o

Re: ceiling tile

Personally, I like high ceilings. The dropped ceiling was promoted as an energy saver, but with little insulation or air flow stoppage I doubt that they ever really achieved any great results. High ceiling with properly operated ceiling fans probably achieve just as much. Just my opinion, no scientific study.
