Ceiling Insulation for my attic/new bonus room
Jonathan Koa

Wondering if anyone can help with some advice. I live in Los Angeles, and am converting my attic into a bonus room. The ceiling of the bonus room (cathedral ceiling with 6" rafters) is my roof and I'm worried on hot days the insulation won't be enough to keep that ceiling from getting too hot
I'm installing R-19 fiberglass batts to the ceiling and plan to drywall everything, also adding central air to the attic and skylights that open to allow hot air out. Is there anything else I can do to help insulate the ceiling and keep my hot roof from penetrating into my bonus room attic ceiling?
Thanks for your response in advance!

What kind f roof do you have? Shingles?, Clay tile? Other? It makes a difference on how this should be done.
