Cast iron pipes

Own a home built in the 60's. This should tell you that cast iron drain pipes were used during that period. Of course, PVC wasn't around in those days! As with any iron product, the pipes have deteriorated/rusted and most likely been effected by tree roots. Is there any way of repairing this damage without digging up the concrete slab? Hemhelp

1960s? Could have been a multitude of materials not just CI for drain pipes. You mention tree roots so assuming you mean your main sewer - which could be tile, transit, ABS, PVC, CI, and a host of other materials. What your local rules and restrictions were in the 60s well, you'd have to inquire of your local building department, you didn't say where you were located.
