Can I dig up and move red top shrubs to different yard?

I moved from Houston area to Sulphur Springs, Texas. Every thing in our old yard will be cut down and leveled later. I hate to just let them go. I would like to take the beautiful healthy row of red top shrubs (8years old)to our new house. Can this be done and does it require and special attention to the soil? The soil in the old Houston yard is black...the soil here is red soil. Can I bring them with us or should I start over with new plants?

8 year old shrubs are probably a pretty good size by now. I wouldn't bother. The work will more than you realize & no guarantee they will make it. Lifes too short to kill yourself over shrubs.

Established plants better stay where they are.
