Can aluminum window shutters handle hot and cold weather?

I am planning to buy aluminum window sliding because it's aluminum so it gets hotter and colder. Is this true? Not that I want to side my whole house right now with vinyl.

Aluminum shutters are resilient, but can get dented easily.
They get hot and cold faster than other surfaces.
They are not maintenance free.

Hope this helps.

All the different building materials have their strong and weak points. Aluminum siding and shutters are a good choice save for the softness of the metal inviting denting, the bigger hassle of replacing damaged panels and parts, and the value of aluminum scrap being such that thieves will target it in bad neighborhoods.

Aluminum siding is painted similarly to older cars and mobile homes. Use a cleaner/wax solution for mobile homes with a soft brush on it twice a year and the finish will last several decades, just like car paint once did.
