Broken drain pipe

My drain pipe from my kitchen in the concrete foundation broke off right at the foundation outside. What is the best fix? Chisel out the concrete around the pipe far enough to get a coupler on? Or is there a product that will screw into the 1 1/2 pvc pipe to extend it?

Thanks

My suggestion is to chip it out then add coupler. If you could insert a busching into the existing pipe it will reduce the inside diameter and possibly cause a clog in the future.

Just my opinion..

Plug the pipe with a rag or something before chiseling out the concrete around the old pipe.

A hand held 'chipping hammer' can be rented for this purpose and are waaaaaay cool to use.

Thanks! That's what I plan to do. What about possibly using a diamond hole saw to cut around the pipe instead of using a chisel. Think it might work?

Thanks again!

.The hole saw will want to walk all over the place on you. You should be able to chisel it out in no time at all.

If you have a hammer drill you could drill a series of holes in the concrete around the outside of the pipe to make it easier to chisel out.
