Bringing Back the Shine to Cupboards

We bought a 75 year old farm house and the previous owner put in a lot of maple cupboards in the kitchen. I want to clean and restore the shine. I don't want to take them down and refinish them. I'm looking for a way to clean them without removing the varnish. Can you give me any ideas?

Re: Bringing Back the Shine to Cupboards

our kitchen has a lot of oak cabinets and we use the Scott's Liquid **** wood wash on them. for us it brings back the shine and cuts through the grime from daily use. we buy it in a spray bottle at the local hardware store. it may take some good scrubbing to get the shine back but using a nail brush or the sort should help greatly.
