Latest news

Daniel Dubois doesn’t care whether Ebenezer Tetteh’s any good or not — because he’s just going to seek him out and destroy him.

British heavyweight champion Dubois, 22, faces the Ghanaian for the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Friday.

And the 22-year-old is confident the fight will be another step towards his goal of becoming heavyweight world champion.

He said: “We’ll see on the night if it’s my toughest test yet.

"I haven’t studied videos of him really, I’m just approaching this fight with the mindset of ‘seek and destroy’ and come away with a victory, to perform to the best of my ability.

“The Commonwealth belt is another step in the right direction, it’s about proving myself and getting up the rankings.

“I’m carving out my legacy.

“My promoter, Frank Warren, has laid out a path for me.

“All I have to do is fight and knock over whoever those in front of me.

“Whenever we get there, we get there, but I’m going to create my legacy and make sure I become a legend in this sport before I leave.”

Dubois recognised with award

Daniel Dubois has been named the Young Boxer of the Year by the Boxing Writers' Club.

"There were many strong contenders for the award and I am honoured that my progress in the sport is commended by the winning of such a prestigious honour," he said

"I know I am following in the footsteps of many, many greats and it is my intention to emulate their achievements.

"I will accept the award on behalf of my team because this has been a team effort and I would like to thank Martin and Tony Bowers and everyone at the Peacock Gym, along with my promoter Frank Warren for successfully guiding my career so far."
