Birds eating landscape plants

We have peacocks, guineas, and chickens. The chickens stay in their pen but as you now we can't keep the guineas or peacocks in theirs. We had to put barrier fence over the garden to stop them from flying in but we have a pool and can't rightly do that there. The new landscaping is a playground for them. Is there any way to stop them from eating the plants without shooting them. Is there anything we can put on them to stop it. We tried Cayenne pepper to no avail.

Don't do it, the deer are much much much much quieter than the peacock's and guinea's.

My grandma told me to hang CDs (broken/defective discs) around my garden. And it actually worked effectively. The birds see their reflections in it making them fly away. More effective than scarecrow indeed.

Question is: which CDs from your collection are going outside?

How about "The best of Tiny Tim"?

Coyote, dog or even human urine sprayed onto the plants will probably discourage them. You might consider caging each individual plant until they are large enough to withstand the assault from the birds.
