Big NO-No that needs help with ceiling fan and light wiring

Hello All,

I am seeking some help with a wiring setup that is not suitable. In my living room, I have a dimmer switch that is feeding into a chandieler which runs the same wire to a cieling fan (that also has a light). I know dimmers and fans are a big NO NO and am looking to get this installed safely while hopefully retaining the dimming capability along with being able to use the fan with no more humming (and of course lose the fire hazard risk). I was reading that installing a remote control setup to the fan may be a fix but I am not sure if that was only for a one light setup. I attached a picture that may show a bit better how the wiring is currently setup.

If possible can you please provide a switch and or remote kit that may fix this?

Thank you!

Michael,

You cannot have a single phase motor on a dimmer. It will burn it up due to the incorrect voltage to the windings. You need at least two power wires going to the ceiling box. One for the light and one for the motor.
