I've read a lot of sites - JD Powers, Consumer Reports, Consumer Research, etc. but those just compile surveys from some consumers, or broach paint colors, or how to prepare outside areas for painting. I’m interested in scientific studies done which determine which exterior paints last the longest (.e.g. Sherwin-Williams –vs- Benjamin Moore –vs- Valspar), which provide the best value (cost/benefit – maybe the most expensive paints aren’t the best just like computer software) , etc. Painting is not cheap so I’d like to have a better understating as to which paint manufacturers offer the best paint and not just how happy some consumer was with their shade of yellow so they thought was great paint.
Can anyone please share any objective, scientific studies?
