Battling to find insurance

After a month of coverage Nationwide has threatened to cancel my policy due to "renovation work" some assessor came in and took pictures of the floors (which I have not done yet), move in boxes close to a fireplace, and tree limbs touching my roof and side of the house. The sent me an email stating "The two items that need to be addressed immediately are the fireplace and the tree limbs. The other is not urgent as log as it is completed before July of next year" I took care of the tree limbs and fireplace and sent photos showing the completion. Now, the "renovation" of the floors must be completely by October 16, 2011 or my policy is cancelled. '

What the He77 is going on? Is there a decent insurance company that will cover me and leave me alone so I can renovate this home properly and not have to deal with cosmetic crap like the floors?

We're using Liberty Mutual. So far we haven't had any trouble (knock on wood). And they knew that our home was in need of structural repairs when we got the insurance. We're located in New England. Not sure if it is available in your particular state.

I have a feeling that there is more to the story.

If this insurance co. is picking on you, find a more relaxed company.
