basement water leaks

My basement is about 4-5 feet below ground level and has a sump pump. Over the years several things have failed flooding the basement. The sump pump has failed, it has clogged and the drain from the outside stairwell has clogged and water seeped in under the door. All this is bad but I can deal with it, my problem is the plumping near the middle of the basement. We have a well and the water is tough on the copper piping and there have been many pinhole leaks. The water heater has failed and leaked several times. The heat pump is also near there and several times the outlet for the A/C condenser has clogged and overflowed. We don't go to the basement often during a given week so if there is a leak it could be hours or days before we know about it. Eventually the water makes it to the sump pump area and when we find it we help. My question is, is there any way to dam around this area or cut a channel in the concrete floor and channel the water to the sump pump? Thank you ...
