Hey all,
need help I am trying to spand 14' with 2+8 can anyone tell me how many I will need ?

it's a split level home so it has a bath room 3bedrooms not very big rooms about 500 square feet all together

You need intermediate support, 14' distance plus a landing ledger/wall plate/sill plate/hanger is too long for a 2x8" to span (and support a floor-plus) above without an intermediate support. If building new now you'd x10" or equivallent minimum and may still require an intermediate support, depends on the exact distance and the loads and if any cantillevier beyond the support.

It's not clear ( at least to me ) what you're trying to do here .... perhaps some more details would be helpful.

hey guys,

thansk for all your input I went to my local stores contractor desk and they had a chart that gave me the answer that I was looking for I need 5 2+10 again thanks for all your input
