Basement Moisture

I'm thinking of putting a room in my basement, I have a few questions. The house was built in the early 1900’s and located in New England. I have very very minor water seepage in certain parts of a few walls a pin hole here and there. Also a few little damp spots where the walls meet the floor. Both of these walls are below grade. Don’t really have an option to regrade the land.

So hear are the questions.

I do not have a dehumidifier down there yet. Should I try that and see what happens?

I was thinking of trying Hydraulic cement. Is that a waste of time? Is there a product that anyone would recommend. I’ve seen Drylock but I’m not sure I feel about that.

I don’t have the money to have this done professionally, nor do I think the job is at that point. I no problem doing the work I’m just looking to do it right the first time.

Can anyone recommend anything. Ideas?
