Basement drain what to do with it.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I moved into my house about 2 years ago had no issue with basement flooding until recently when it started coming up through the concrete. In the corner there is a 2 inch drain that looks very old with blackwater in it and a cap. I have had no issues with the main backing up. I may be planning on installing a sump and re sealing the floors but don't know what to do with this drain as its right where I plan on putting the pit. Any input on this being ties into the main or for groindwater. Also the house is 120 years old so if any this pipe is original I expect it was clay and is more roots that pipe now.
