Backerboard to drywall transitions and cornerbead
dberkowitz

I have a bathroom redo.  The bathtub alcove has a partition wall about 8" wide that comes past the tub by 3".  The alcove tile comes to the edge of the partition wall.  I'd like to wainscot the bathroom with the tile, transitioning around that partition wall.  How do I handle that transition and have clean corners?   I'm using an oversized beveled subway tile and it has an available 1/4 round cap I intend to close in the edges.  How do I get a clean corner transition from the tile to the drywall?  What cornerbead should I use, or should I be using mesh tape for part of it?  I'm concerned about the outside edge of the alcove not allowing a straight wall because of the corner bead and resulting feathering.

Thanks in advance,

David
