As usual, thanks in advance for the advice. I love this site. It's a great resource. I have a small job that i should do myself, but I want it to be perfect over a learning experience. I need to install a small backsplash above my countertop which is in a small 8x9 foot kitchen. The 8ft counter top goes from wall to wall. Above the sink there's an 8ft by 4.5 inch space between the countertop and cabinets. (it's so low due to a built in spice rack. The actual distance from counter top to cabinet is about 13 inches, but the room for tile is 4.5. Then on either end there's a 12inch tall area that's about 23 inches front to back. The tile will but up against a door frame on either end of the countertop.
I bought 10 square feet of 1 inch glass mosaic tile and grout.
I'm curious what you think I should look for in bids to lay the tile? The job also includes a few repairs in dry wall..
I know I received a bathroom quote at 5 to 6 bucks a foot to lay tile (not including material cost or demo)... Different job, different area, different cost?
