Anderson Windows Glazing Panel
romeo5757

I just moved to North Carolina and have purchased a salt box design home. Home is in great shape. Home was built in 1968. There are three outstanding Anderson casement windows across the back. As winter approaches, I am looking for the glazing panels, storm windows, that are housed on the inside of each panel. Anderson no longer makes them. The previous owner screwed plexi glass panels on the outside of the windows which is not correct and disturbing. I want to take them off and repair properly. Any suggestions on correcting or finding these panels? Thanks

Try local window makers, they might be able to custom make what you need. Offer them extra cash as an incentive (money talks).

thanks - I just tried that. In this town there is only one glass company. It has been suggested that I replace all the panels with vinyl-to that I say "no thanks". The windows are in great shape they just need some TLC. I will keep pushing.

You may have to go to a nearby larger city to find someone who will make these for you. In the western end of NC, many of the smaller towns have only one place or person to go to, and it has been my experience that those folks aren't always very good at what they do. They survive only because there is nobody else to turn to. There are also some great craftsmen like this, but they are the exception rather than the rule. Somebody somewhere can do better than the screwed-on plexi, now all you have to do is find them!
