We are attempting to fill in space between masonry and flooring. We've found some fire foam in a can, but it's a bit pricy - about $15.00 each.

What alternatives are there available? We have about 150 feet to insulate and it needs to be fire-rated to pass inspection for a business location. All flooring is already installed.

Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

fire regulations are very specific regarding how to fire proof penetrations. I sounds to me like you are talking about the floor line at exterior walls? depending on how wide these are, (you would need to look in a ul handbook, available at your supplier of drywall and metal studs) but if it isn't too wide you probally can use fire safing or rock wool

Yes, floor line at exterior walls, about 1/2 inch is the widest gap.

Thanks!

you can probally get away with just really packing it tight with firesafing, which is like a real thick fiberglass insulation.
